Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon minced red onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
1 teaspoon capers, drained and chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (taste first, as smoked salmon is salty)
Optional: Everything bagel seasoning for topping
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
Add the chopped smoked salmon, lemon juice, horseradish, minced red onion, fresh dill, capers, and black pepper to the bowl.
Use a fork or an electric hand mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Do not overmix.
Taste the dip and add a small pinch of salt if needed.
Transfer the smoked salmon dip to a serving bowl.
Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Before serving, sprinkle the top with a little extra dill or everything bagel seasoning, if desired.
Serve your easy smoked salmon appetizer with crackers, bagel chips, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
For a smoother texture, you can use a food processor, but pulse briefly to avoid making the dip too thin.
If you prefer a stronger salmon flavor, use 6 ounces of smoked salmon instead of 4.
This dip is excellent served alongside smoked salmon crostini for brunch gatherings.
