Make this festive Peppermint Espresso Martini at home. This easy winter cocktail combines vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso, and a cool peppermint twist, perfect for holiday parties or a winter nightcap.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, chilled
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup (or to taste)
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Crushed candy cane or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glass: If desired, moisten the rim of a chilled coupe or martini glass with a lime wedge or water. Dip the rim into crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings.
  2. Chill your glassware before starting.
  3. Combine the vodka, coffee liqueur, chilled espresso, peppermint schnapps, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  4. Seal the shaker tightly and shake hard for about 15 to 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and a nice foam develops.
  5. Double strain the mixture into your prepared glass.
  6. Garnish the drink with a few coffee beans or a small piece of peppermint candy.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add 0.5 oz of heavy cream or Bailey’s Irish Cream to the shaker before shaking.
  • Use cold brew concentrate instead of fresh espresso if you need a quicker option for your holiday party drinks.
  • If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, increase the peppermint schnapps slightly.
